Galway Head Injury Support Ltd

About Us

Galway Head Injury Support was set up in July 1999 as a result of a group of concerned families coming together to discuss the lack of services for people with acquired brain injury or ABI, living in the Western Region. It soon became evident that a vital role for this group was to provide
care and support to the actual carers as well as the person with ABI.

Galway Head Injury Support endeavours to improve the quality of life of people with acquired brain injury and their families

Our aims are:

1 provides non-fiscal support, relevant information and counselling for families of people with brain injury
2 highlights the special needs of families where there is a brain injury
3 advocates for the recognition of these needs to government bodies and health care professionals
